I'm not quite sure, but I think this is some kind of hawthorn - crataegus - hagtorn
The first picture is a lucky straight-from-the-camera shot.
The second one has been slightly cropped, clarified and sharpened in PSP9.

DawnTreader's Picture Book
For this blog, I have chosen a template that allows me to show pictures as big as possible . Some of the things you usually find in the sidebar, you will find here at the bottom of the page instead - Blog Archive, Followers etc.
My camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4600.
For basic editing of most photos and collages I use Picasa 3.
Sometimes I also experiment with some more "artistic" effects in Photoshop Elements or Paint Shop Pro.

Dawn Treader...!!! I am glad that people are discovering your photo blog! IT CAN GET REAL LONELY OUT THERE IN THE BLOGISPHERE! Your photos are beautiful and so many different plants, moths and flowers that I have not seen before. I am enjoying it.

Thanks Dan. Yes, it seems some of my friends have managed to find their way here today, in spite of the fact that Blogger is being obstinate, and refuses to show any Followers - on this *or* my other blogs, since yesterday! ;)

I love the upclose shot of the hawthorne - it's very vivid. What kind of camera do you use?
