Winter came early this year, with lasting cold weather. It’s hard on the birds:
Much of the river is already getting covered by ice.

The last two pictures are stunning! It looks like ice on the trees! Two of those ducks are actually sitting on the ice, yikes!! I don't care how many feathers are on your bottom, that's get to freeze, I hope they didn't freeze that way and stick to the ice, or get some feathers pulled off when they get up!
these pictures say COLD to me, they are wonderful and beatiful and magical all at the same time. poor little ducks will gt their feet frozen, where do they go when it freezes hard?
That's what I keep hearing from N. and NW Europe: early and an old-fashioned (meaning severe) winter. Keep warm! The 2 last pics are my favorites:)
It's so beautiful! I bet it looks nice even without snow but the snow adds such a magical beauty. These photos are wonderful!
Beautiful photos Dawn, so too your previous set 'Winter Wonderland'. I guess the whole lake will freeze as the temperatures drop, I wonder how those little ducks keep warm and stop themselves from sticking to the ice?
xoxoxo ♡
WATCHING FOR THE WET STUFF
Water for the thirsty,
Water just for play,
Water for the forests,
Water for the hay—
Water’s what we’re seeking,
Both on sea and land,
Watching for the wet stuff,
Cameras in hand.

Cutting through the Waters
Wonderful shots. We don't get anything that looks much like this here in Southern California. To me this looks like a Winter Wonderland.
