Some more pictures from Laundry Day. I’m afraid I don’t have names for all contraptions and vessels used (not even in Swedish). I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.
Above on the left you can see there were also musicians present.
I’ll get back to them in another post.

You must have the cleanest town in Sweden. I noticed the other day the spectators are well wrapped up. The laundry women must be frozen.
These are good pictures I find people difficult to Photograph.
I like occasions like these because then neither spectators nor "actors" really seem to mind photographers. On a normal day in town if you get too close to strangers pointing a camera at them you'll feel like you're intruding on their privacy. But with things like this going on everybody is just concentrating on their tasks and at the same time it's easy to get up close to take photos.
I am so enjoying your laundry photos. keep them coming, they need no words at all, the photos tell stories from the past. I can pretty much imagine what each contrapiton does by looking at it carefully. they were very inventive. wouldn't you like to see the faces of the ladies that used those in the past if they could see how we do laundry now? lovin these posts and the photos are super great
I see the musicians, and what is that yellow thingy behind them? So many different contraptions!! I wonder how they used to have room to keep them? It would be a chore just setting them up! The people in the pictures are starting to look very tired, or is it just me?
I'm loving these! I'm inspired to start wearing a head-scarf everywhere...
