These two pictures were taken in late afternoon light within one minute of each other, in more or less the same spot. I can’t quite figure out why the light is so different in the two photos. I know I didn’t make any adjustments to the camera, so I suppose the sun came out from behind a cloud. The place is a pond in a big cemetery which is like a nature park with varied landscape.

DawnTreader's Picture Book
For this blog, I have chosen a template that allows me to show pictures as big as possible . Some of the things you usually find in the sidebar, you will find here at the bottom of the page instead - Blog Archive, Followers etc.
My camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4600.
For basic editing of most photos and collages I use Picasa 3.
Sometimes I also experiment with some more "artistic" effects in Photoshop Elements or Paint Shop Pro.

The color is much more intense in the second one, the first has almost no light and is more drab. The sun must have come out from behind a cloud. I love the round shape of those leaves, they remind me of silver dollars.
These are both superb. I agree a shift in white balance. It can be altered readily in editing......I should know!!
both photos are stunning, monica. a beautiful place to visit. it is so amazing how much photos change just from the light changing.
what a difference a minute makes. our trees here are just starting to change, but won't be long we will have full color.
Both photos are extremely beautiful, love the leaves and bark on the birch trees. xoxo ♡
I just wanted to add 'the magic of light', it illuminates everything it touches. xoxoxo ♡
