Rose hips begin to form in spring, and ripen in late summer through autumn.
They are particularly rich in Vitamin C, and are used for herbal tea and soup etc.

DawnTreader's Picture Book
For this blog, I have chosen a template that allows me to show pictures as big as possible . Some of the things you usually find in the sidebar, you will find here at the bottom of the page instead - Blog Archive, Followers etc.
My camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4600.
For basic editing of most photos and collages I use Picasa 3.
Sometimes I also experiment with some more "artistic" effects in Photoshop Elements or Paint Shop Pro.

does it have fruit and the rose? this is amazing. the photos of the fruit are beautiful. i have never seen one except when you show them, but i read about them in books and about rose hip tea. beautiful photos
I cheated just a little bit here in including a rose picture from earlier in the summer. But it is not uncommon to find flowers and more or less ripe fruit on the same bush.
Thanks for showing more of these. So are they the beginning of the buds, or something else? We used to take health supplements with rose hips in them.
Oh how inapt one is to explain what is obvious to oneself (LOL) This is a backwards post. I started with the rosehip photos, which I took quite recently. Then it hit me that maybe I should put in a rose as well just to show you where they come from... To the right in that picture of the rose, you can also see a bud.
