This poor Peacock butterfly (top picture) was missing one of its wings, but still managed to flutter about and enjoy the flowers together with the other butterflies in the park. (I wonder if it feels pain, or just a slight imbalance?!)

DawnTreader's Picture Book
For this blog, I have chosen a template that allows me to show pictures as big as possible . Some of the things you usually find in the sidebar, you will find here at the bottom of the page instead - Blog Archive, Followers etc.
My camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4600.
For basic editing of most photos and collages I use Picasa 3.
Sometimes I also experiment with some more "artistic" effects in Photoshop Elements or Paint Shop Pro.

that second photo made me think the word glorious. the flowers and the butterfly are simply enchanting to me. ginny thinks her hard drive is gone, she said some was coming ot her house to check it at 3, that was a couple of hours ago.
beautiful color, flowers and butterflies. I wonder how they work it also. maybe like when one of us is missing an arm?
Such beautiful pictures!! These butterflies never cease to amaze me! I don't think we have any here.
Lovely images very colourful. Do they feel pain? well according to science no not like we do as they do not have a complex nervous system. Did you know that when a caterpillar is in the cocoon it totally disintegrates into a primordial soup then rebuilds itself into a butterfly or moth. How cool is that?
We've been very short of Peacocks in N W England this year - perhaps you've got them all!
Poor butterfly. Lovely images.
Thanks all.
Pictureit - I sort of wish I could spin myself into a cocoon and do a bit of rebuilding right now.
Scriptor - it's good to see you "out and about" in the Blogworld again, with new avatar pic and all! :) And yes, I've seen quite a few Peacocks about here in the last couple of weeks, actually. Just as I had given up hope of any butterflies at all this summer!
