what a great quote to go with the picture. I would like to go to the cemetary where most of my roots are, it is a 8 hour drive from me, and take photos of all my ancestors. it is in a small church yard and the majority of the graves belong to my family. I did not have a camera the last time i visited there and your photo makes me desire to go there.
I love this picture and the detail in it. It's quite beautiful. And I adore the quote about our history being our roots. I think I will copy that. It is very exciting to me to have a blog to follow that will show me Sweden! If you look on your sidebar on The Island Of Voices, you will see that I have signed up to follow you. I would do that here, too, but can't find a place for it. By the way, why is it called The Island Of Voices?
@ Ginny - On this blog, you'll find "followers" etc at the bottom of the page, I skipped the sidebar to be able to show bigger pictures.
The answer re The Island of the Voices is found in the quote in the blog header on that blog. It's a magic island visited in The Voyage of the DawnTreader by C.S. Lewis.

For this blog, I have chosen a template that allows me to show pictures as big as possible . Some of the things you usually find in the sidebar, you will find here at the bottom of the page instead - Blog Archive, Followers etc.
My camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4600. For basic editing of most photos and collages I use Picasa 3. Sometimes I also experiment with some more "artistic" effects in Photoshop Elements or Paint Shop Pro.
