@ Adrian - I made that last one (and the other flying duck picture as well) using Picasa collage, with the choice to use the picture itself as frame; and then repeating that. Using that method, the picture of the top will always be the one you started out with. So even if I went on adding layers (frames) to this one, I would never end up with just the head on top.
Dawn Treader...GREAT PICTURES! I really like your last one...very artistic. Nice work. Isn't it amazing how these ducks can be in that frigid water this time of year!
@ Dan - Thanks! And yes, it must be hard on them this winter. Some of them kept making these "jumps" up in the air from time to time - I'm guessing it's their exercise to try and keep warm! My camera not really quick enough to catch them in their flight, though. I know that and yet I can never keep myself from trying...! ;)
the first thought I had was oh my, they might fall over the waterfall, but then the photo showed they would just fly if they did. I like it the way it came out of the camera. I like the first artistic one best, it centers the duck in the icy crackles. I like them all and isn't it fun to play with photos?

For this blog, I have chosen a template that allows me to show pictures as big as possible . Some of the things you usually find in the sidebar, you will find here at the bottom of the page instead - Blog Archive, Followers etc.
My camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4600. For basic editing of most photos and collages I use Picasa 3. Sometimes I also experiment with some more "artistic" effects in Photoshop Elements or Paint Shop Pro.

Dawn, the last is very effective. What happens if you keep stacking till only the head is on the top layer?

I had the same thought as Sandra. Those first two pictures are like a little picture-story! Very nice.
