Old Factory Building
Back in February, I was showing pictures of a set of icicles along the roof of an old factory buildning, and I got a question if I had a picture of the whole building. I didn't, back then, but I said I'd think about it the next time I passed there with the camera. Because of all the snow and ice lately, that did not happen until today. There are still some spots that are not at all pedestrian-friendly...

My camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4600.
For basic editing of most photos and collages I use Picasa 3.
Sometimes I also experiment with some more "artistic" effects in Photoshop Elements or Paint Shop Pro.

This is very lovely for a factory. I would never know that's what it is! Our factories are terribly ugly! I will be posting pictures of them at some point, and you will see. This building looks like it could be anything, even a school. But there's no mistaking factories here. I get the feeling that Sweded in cleaner than we are.
Well, these days it is no longer a factory, mostly offices inside I think. And the same goes for a lot of other old factory buildings.
Our town and the area around it was/is a textile industry centre, and many of the old factory buildings from the late 19th and early 20th century actually have quite impressive architecture.
it always amazes me to think how they built buildings like this so long ago, the windows are beautiful. I agree with Ginny, much prettier than our factories here.
What great photos! I did not realize you had a photography blog. This bldg is particularly stunning.
