In mid December, an ice sculpture of a polar bear (with a little cub) was made in our town square. Since we've had a such a cold winter, the sculpture is still standing, even if 2½ months of snowing and a bit of occasional thawing in between has altered the shape a little. The picture on the left is from when the sculpture was new. The one on the right is from today.

That is great. I've heard of them but never seen one.
This is such a good comparison! The sculpture is huge, but sweet at the same time. I did look at the older posts; was fire used in the making of this? I saw the one picture of fire in your collage.
@ Ginny: No, to my knowledge fire was not used in the making of the sculpture (I did not watch the whole procedure). It took place at a Christmas market including a Santaland and the fire was part of that whole "setup".
awesome! and you don't have to worry about it melting. ha ha on that one.
