This church, finished in 1669 (the tower added in 1681) is the oldest building in our town, withstanding four big fires that ravaged the town in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. In the same place there was also a church back in medeival times.

I would love to see the inside. I am surprised at the age of the church...it doesn't look that old from the outside?

I think that although the church was not burned to the ground in those big town fires (back in the days when most houses were wooden), it suffered some damage, so it has gone through some renovations. Not sure how much they've actually changed the looks of it though. About the inside, I've been thinking for a while now I'll have to try and get pictures of it. It's beautiful. I read in a brochure in connection with the Town Hall centenary now that some of the mural paintwork inside this church was done buy the same man who did the ones in the Town Hall.
