“Peace like a river ran through the city….”
~ Paul Simon (Album: Paul Simon) ~(full lyrics can be read here at Paul’s official website)

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.~ Horatio G. Spafford, 1873. ~

Oh, my, what a very special post. I adore it!! The river is actually running through the city, too! Such georgous reflections! The picture is just stunning. And then it gets even BETTER, because I love Paul Simon and Simon & Garfunkel! I know this song well. Also "It Is Well With My Soul", we sing that at church all the time. What appropriete quotes to go with this picture, and I so love that you've done both a new song and an old hymn!! We have both posted on water today with inspirational quotes!!! How cool is that? That reminds me that there is an old song called "Cool Water". Not near as pretty as these two, though!
Lovely pic... and ice-free!
beautiful reflections and that song is one of my favorites. i sang it while reading the lyrics. he wrote that song after he lost his wife and children on the Titantic.
Yes, I learned something myself when putting together this post! The Paul Simon song title came to mind when I looked at the photo; but then when googling the phrase "peace like a river" I also came across the lyrics to that old hymn and the story behind that. I feel pretty sure Paul must have had it in mind when writing his song, but I never knew that until now.
