Back in February, I posted pictures of this old mill and waterfall all covered in snow and ice.
The mill is looked after by a local history society, and the little island behind it, embraced by two arms of a river, is a nature reserve area with a many different kinds of trees and flowers – some common, some rare.
We went for a walk there again this first Sunday in May, and that’s where my photos this week will be from. Spring is rather late this year, after a hard winter. The trees were only just at that first hint of green, but some of the early spring flowers at their finest.

the mill looks like a place I would walk often. I see what you mean about our Spring further along. Michigan looked like your pics about a month ago. We have had fantastic weather this year! very uncommon. I will check out your other blog to see the close-ups.
these photos are like stepping back in time if not for the cars in one of them. a lovely and peaceful spot, the photos tell it all.

These are just lovely pictures! It is not a working mill? Do they ever turn it on, or is it not in good shape any more?
This is not a working mill. It is a sort of museum but only open to the public on special occasions. They have put in a new wheel to be able to run demonstrations of how it used to work. But they do not produce flour to sell.
