Himalayan Balsam – Lat. Impatiens glandulifera – Swe. Jättebalsamin
Other English names I found for it:
Indian Balsam, Kiss-me-on-the-mountain… or Policeman’s helmet!
I guess whoever came up with the last one wasn’t really the romantic type… ;)
Although, as I write that down, I’m suddenly reminded of a Jeeves & Wooster novel by P.G. Wodehouse, in which the heroine wanted her fiancé to prove his love for her by stealing a policeman’s helmet…! (With no end of complications, of course.)

I've never heard of or seen these! They look a bit like sweet peas! Policemean's Helmet, where on earth do they come up with those names?
The first shot is truly beautiful.
They are very beautiful, I love the shades of pink, especially in the first photo. xoxo ♥
all new to me! they are beautiful to behold. how much longer will you have things blooming there?
Dawn Treader great photos...on the whole page! For someone who walks everywhere they go...you must really live in a beautiful area. Such a varied landscape from great sculptures and city sidewalks to beautiful countrysides...you are blessed to live in such an area.
