A Taste Of Summer

2010 08 01 Red Currants 3

“Swinging
clusters of red, the hedges are full of them,
red-currant red, a graceful
ornament or a merry smile.”

Denise Levertov (1923 – 1997)

What wonderful, shiny reds! They would be great on a Christmas tree if they were in season. So they are currants? The kind you can eat? I must tell you that this picture did not come in. It is just a big blank square with a tiny red X in the top left, and I had to click that, which then took me to another page to see it. This same thing happened yesterday with one of your other pictures, I don't remember which blog. You may want to check with others to see if it's on my end or yours. I haven't had this with any other blogs, and it's only happened with two of your pictures so far. Maybe you did something different to this one when you loaded it?

Thanks Ginny for the "alert". This post was pre-scheduled from Windows Live Writer, and I don't know what might have gone wrong. When I opened it myself I couldn't see the picture at all, not even the little red x. I've re-edited it now; now it looks ok at my end.

Do you remember what picture it was that did now show up before? The only thing I know of is that on Friday a whole post on the other blog came out all messed up, but that one was only up for a minute or two, then I removed it and reworked it the next day. With that one the problem was with the text and I think what caused it was probably that quotes copied from other web pages must have messed up the html code.

Might have been the same thing here perhaps because I copied the quote from some other web page.

They look like brightly coloured red jewels hanging from the vine.
I don't think I have ever tasted them fresh like that but I think I have had redcurrant jelly.
Lovely photos Dawn. xoxo ♡

DawnTreader's Picture Book

For this blog, I have chosen a template that allows me to show pictures as big as possible . Some of the things you usually find in the sidebar, you will find here at the bottom of the page instead - Blog Archive, Followers etc.

My camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4600.
For basic editing of most photos and collages I use Picasa 3.
Sometimes I also experiment with some more "artistic" effects in Photoshop Elements or Paint Shop Pro.
